The Idaho Lottery turned 25 this weekend. To celebrate, they threw a party as part of the opening of the Idaho Stampede Rodeo on Saturday. They also hosted the Powerball drawing during the rodeo that was televised live nationally. They asked me to come and take some photos at the event and I had a great time. I really liked the band they had opening things. They were Pistol Creek out of Emmett and they sounded really good. Their vocals were tight and the tones from the electric guitar were terrific. Their headliner was Tim Rushlow of Little Texas fame. He was a genuinely nice guy and an amazing singer.
It has been a few years since I’ve been to the rodeo, and I’m thinking I should be going more often. It was so much fun. From the little kids riding crazy sheep to the insane cowboys strapping themselves to 1000 pound angry bulls, the whole night was exciting and fun. The show was very entertaining and it’s amazing to see how much talent and athleticism goes into working with their animals.
The Powerball draw went off perfectly and I had a great time and I look forward to working with the Idaho Lottery again.
The opening band for the day was a band out of Emmett Idaho. Pistol Creek was great! I was very impressed. Their vocals were tight and the tones, particularly from their lead guitar were spectacular. They had a few of their own songs, but they played a ton of covers and performed them all wonderfully. If I see they’re playing again in town, I’ll make an effort to go. 🙂
